Introduction

At Qymmo, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use Qcom (“the Platform”), our multi-channel communication service.

By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account information

Name, email address, phone number, company name, and password when you create an account. If you sign up on behalf of an organisation, we also collect your role and workspace details.

Usage data

How you interact with the Platform — pages visited, features used, campaigns sent, messages delivered, and time spent. This helps us improve the product and your experience.

Technical data

IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, and referral URLs, collected automatically when you access the Platform.

Communication data

Message metadata (delivery status, timestamps, channel used) for messages sent through the Platform. We do not read the content of your messages unless required for support or abuse prevention.

How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Platform
  • Process message delivery across SMS, email, and WhatsApp channels
  • Generate analytics and delivery reports for your campaigns
  • Send you service-related notices, security alerts, and support messages
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations
  • Comply with legal obligations

Customer Data You Process

When you upload contact lists, send messages, or manage audiences through Qcom, you are the data controller for that information. We act as a data processor on your behalf.

You retain full ownership of your customer data. We do not sell, rent, or share your customer data with third parties for their own purposes. We only process it as necessary to deliver the services you use.

You are responsible for ensuring your collection and use of customer data complies with applicable data protection laws (GDPR, POPIA, CAN-SPAM, etc.) in your jurisdiction.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers — third-party services that help us operate the Platform (hosting, email delivery, SMS gateways, payment processing)
  • Legal requirements — when required by law, regulation, or valid legal process
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
  • With your consent — when you explicitly authorise sharing

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS) and at rest
  • Role-based access controls within the Platform
  • Regular security reviews and monitoring
  • Two-factor authentication for account access

No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

For a broader overview of how we protect the platform, see our Security page.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Message logs and delivery data are retained for 12 months, after which they are automatically deleted.

When you close your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g. billing records).

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access and receive a copy of your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Request deletion of your personal data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@qymmo.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We also use analytics cookies to understand how the Platform is used so we can improve it.

You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality of the Platform.

International Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including standard contractual clauses approved by relevant authorities.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through a notice on the Platform at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
